Peru and Bolivia
Fun, adventure, discovery and enlightenment - four words that sum up the experience of the five people who joined me for the trip to South America in 2008. We started in the steamy Amazon jungle, progressed to the temperate climateof Cusco, the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu, and sailed on the glorious waters of Lake Titicaca before ascending to the heights of La Paz in Bolivia. From me, thank you all for a memorable time - and thank you, Giovanna for leading your second lot of spiritual adventurers! I'll let the photos and the words tell the story of our journey.
Jungle
"The jungle lodge was fantastic. The food was great and I loved hearing the howler monkeys at night"...Lisa
"I don't normally go fishing, but I caught a piranha! And to top that, we saw river otters - they're so rare, we felt privileged."...Janine
"The jungle was one of the highlights of the trip for me - particuarly the spiritual time I spent with our local guide."...Shane
"Walking around the botanical gardens gave us great insights into the culture and healing practices of the local people."...Lesley
Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu
"After walking up to the Sun Gate it was wonderful to continue along the Inca Trail, find a quiet spot and sit listening to music."...Lisa
"I loved our hotel at Ollantaytambo, and being able to explore the Inca site all alone early in the morning was a wonderful experience." ...Jenny
"The ritual we did at Sacsayhuaman to honour Mother Earth on the equinox was moving. The opportunity to have a coca leaf reading with the shaman a few days later was a real bonus." ...Janine and Lisa
Lake Titicaca
"I felt really connected here - the energy of the lake was awesome."...Janine
"Even though it was just a ferry crossing spot, I felt real joy at being there."...Jenny
"I loved the homestay, particularly the dancing in the evening!"...Lesley
"The reed islands were a real surprise - so peaceful and quiet. And the ride in the reed boat was great - no motors, just the sound of the oars." ...Lisa
Tarot Activities
"Picking a card a day and then 3 cards at the end of each day to reflect on how our day had played out, was a nice way of bringing us together."...Jenny
"The journey spread as a framework for the whole experience worked really well - I certainly gained a couple of useful insights!"...Janine

The last day! Farewell to our Peregrine guide, Giovanna (just in the photo on the far right).
